Waiting for my turn
In an overcast light
The National play
The Bluetooth flashes bright.

Seeing family
A long way from home
Meeting friends
Sometimes alone.

I know it is much too dry
I know I should care
Maybe the Earth will be soon
Light up like a flare.

I still like the warmth of the summer
Knowing it soon will be September.
My memory stretched
By street names I vaguely remember.

A grey sky now as far as I see
The first raindrops fall
I sit with a friend under a tree
Enjoy the talk, enjoy it all.
